Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with Mobile Crisis Certification who is ready to make an immediate impact in the lives of individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. The ideal candidate is trained, experienced, and confident in responding to crisis situations in the community, with the ability to assess, stabilize, and connect clients to the appropriate level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mobile crisis intervention services in community settings (homes, schools, shelters, hospitals, etc.)
Conduct risk assessments, including suicide and homicide risk evaluations, and implement safety planning as needed
Utilize trauma-informed and culturally competent approaches in all client interactions
Develop and initiate crisis stabilization plans in collaboration with clients and support systems
Provide psychoeducation and crisis counseling to individuals and families
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency and Medicaid/insurance standards
Collaborate with hospitals, law enforcement, schools, and community partners to coordinate care
Participate in on-call rotation or scheduled shifts, including evenings/weekends as needed
Assist clients in accessing follow-up mental health services, including referrals to outpatient therapy, psychiatric care, and case management
Maintain compliance with all agency policies, ethical guidelines, and state/federal regulations
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
QMHP-A or QMHP-C Certification in the state of [Insert State]
Mobile Crisis Certification or equivalent training (must be documented and current)
At least 1 year of experience providing direct mental health services preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision
Strong de-escalation, communication, and clinical assessment skills
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
We can get new graduates enrolled as QMHP Trainee and into the Mobile Crisis training upon hire
Hired applicants can also choose their own work schedules, based on their availability
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), Community Stabilization Programs, or Emergency Services
Familiarity with Medicaid documentation standards and reporting systems
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders
Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
