About the Role
Requirements
The Eco-Village Designs Advocate plays a key role in advancing sustainable living, regenerative infrastructure, and community-centered development across Melanin Valley’s global eco-village initiatives. This role serves as the bridge between design teams, community partners, educational institutions, investors, and residents to ensure that every eco-village reflects the highest standards of environmental stewardship, cultural relevance, and long-term resilience.
The Advocate supports planning, outreach, compliance, and implementation efforts while championing green technologies, renewable energy, climate-smart building practices, and equitable housing solutions.
1. Sustainable Design & Project Coordination
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and design teams to support eco-village layouts, renewable energy systems, water recycling, carbon-negative materials, and regenerative agriculture concepts.
Assist with drafting site plans, design proposals, and documentation needed for project approvals.
Contribute to feasibility studies, cost assessments, and sustainability impact analyses.
Support the alignment of eco-village designs with environmental, cultural, and regulatory requirements across global regions.
2. Community Engagement & Advocacy
Serve as a knowledgeable representative of Melanin Valley’s eco-village mission during meetings, community events, university programs, and international collaborations.
Facilitate feedback sessions with residents, local leaders, and global partners to ensure inclusive, people-centered development.
Advocate for eco-friendly lifestyles, environmental justice, and sustainable wealth-building opportunities layered into village infrastructure.
3. Education, Training & Public Awareness
Develop educational materials, presentations, and workshops on eco-village planning, renewable energy, sustainable housing, and circular economy principles.
Support youth and adult training programs such as Net Energy Academy and global #FutureIsGlobal initiatives.
Promote awareness of eco-village benefits including carbon manufacturing, clean water access, green jobs, and STEM career pathways.
4. Research & Innovation
Conduct research on global best practices in sustainable architecture, permaculture, solar and carbon technologies, and climate-resilient housing.
Evaluate emerging materials, off-grid systems, and green technologies for potential integration into future designs.
Track grants, funding opportunities, and environmental policy updates relevant to eco-village development.
5. Operational & Administrative Support
Assist with preparing proposals, MOUs, partnership packets, and investor materials.
Help maintain project timelines, reports, and design documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Melanin Valley, Eco-Friendly Fundraiser, and international partner universities.
